Visit the British Museum. It's fantastic. Officially it is free, but you should donate at least 500 yen at the entrance (it is worth much more). There are historic treasures and art gathered (pillaged?) from around the world.

For other ideas, see Visit London.

well, i was in london last weekend and i must say it's a fantastic city and probably you won't have to much difficult in find good places to visit, but for personal experience i think you would like to visit the museum "Madame Tussauds" the "London Eye", for me it was fantastic to visit these sites, but as Bob S. said.. make a search on internet, there's plenty of information about london Wink

I have never been in London.

I read an article about London in which the auther wrote:"if you have never been in London, you might not imagine how expensive everything is! but if you come here(London), you might think London's button is made of gold! everything is so expensive!"

Bob, is that true?

Bob, is that true?

That was definitely our experience because the USD is so weak now.

We were in England last year before Christmas, and we went into a pub for dinner. I saw a sign advertising a "Happy Hour" reduced price beers for 2 GBPs. I did the mental math and realized that that was about 4 USD. 4 USD for a bottle of beer is their cheap price?! Dang! Happy Hour prices at bars around here are 1 to 2 USDs. The cheapest (but still nice) B&B we could find near Gatwick Airport was 170 USD per night. It made the prices in Tokyo seem reasonable in comparison. If we had to get a hotel room for our whole stay instead of crashing at my wife's friend's place in the 'burbs, it could easily have turned into the most expensive leg of our holiday.

(edited for my many typos)

well, as i said i was in london last weekend, and in fact the things are very expensive, sunday before come to the airport i went to a bar to drink something hot, and i paid for two cappuccinos 4.3 GBP and this it's around 6.45... and it was me who had to carry the cappuccinos to the table Laughing , but about the hotel i found one very good, it's the "Eagle Hotel" and it's well located in the centre of london, very near the paddington station, i saw there that the price per night in double room it is 125GBP/187 but as i made the reservation on internet i've just paid 92, i think it was a more less nice price if we look to the city and location of the hotel. but that city it's completely amazing.... can you imagine that i had to wait for more then a hour to buy my ticket to "Madame Tussaud's", and the price of the ticket it's nothing more then 24GBP/36 Shocked if some museum in portugal would put that prices, i'm sure it would be completely empty... but that one has thousands of people per day Laughing

Hi. Very Happy I went to the UK and stay at Oxford for three weeks.
There are a lot of beautiful, cute colleges like a castle in this town.
Surprised If you have a chance, you should go "Christ Church".
Then you may fall into "Alice in wonderland" or "Harry potter". Razz

hi Chipi!
I was in London one year ago. It was beautiful experience. There are lot of things to see. Most of all I enjoyed British museum, Madame Tussauds...these things you already know
...and Tower of London - very exciting presentation of crown jewels, then Dungen of London - I havent seen it but my friends said it was fantastic (its: The London Dungeon combines real history, horror and humour to bring gruesome goings-on back to life in the 21st century. Live actors, a terrifying boat ride, shows and special effect transport you to London'd gory past.)
Then I enjoyed Hyde park and Speakers corner - it was really funny and if you like shopping, visit Oxford street - long street with shops and so on.
And if you have time, visit near place - Stonehenge - mystical place.
And many, many other things to see, if you want to know more, you can find it on internet...
have a nice time in London....
