Hello, everyone.

The following two sentences are translations that I made from the same sentence in Japanese.
1. Seeing for the first time in many years the evening sun setting into the Sea of Japan, I was moved by the wonders of the world we live in.

2. Watching for the first time in a long time the sun set into the Sea of Japan, I was overcome by a feeling of awe for the wonders of the world we live in.

Question:
Does I was overcome by a feeling of awe in sentence #2 make sense and is it natural English?

Best regards,
Fw

I wouldn't use "awe for" but "awe in". For example, "I was overcome by a feeling of awe in the wonders of the world in which we live."

(I am a picky English teacher who doesn't like to end sentences with prepositions in writing.)

Thank you for your comment, Kristina.

It really helps. Picky teachers are sometimes more helpful for students like me.
