In the sentence "Your car is larger than ( my own / my own one )," which in the parentheses (my own / my own one) is correct? or are both correct? |

"Your car is larger than my own" may be possible, but I prefer "Your car is larger than mine." "my own one" is wrong to my ears. |

Both of these ways are gramatically correct, but saying "Your car is larger than my own one" is very repetative. "Your car is larger than my own" sounds better, but "Your car is larger than mine" is the most common way to say it. |
