Comments:
Either should or must could be used in the sentence that you quoted, but the meanings would be different.
If should is used, your parents think that watching less TV and studying more would be a good idea for you, but they also realize that doing this is up to you: they feel it would be better for you to watch less TV and study more, but you may or may not do what they feel is better.
If must is used, your parents think that watching less TV and studying more is absolutely necessary. Here, "watching less TV and studying more" is seen as a requirement�as something that is necessary and compulsory.
The modal that is used (should or must) depends on the point of view of the parents.
