Are the sentences below grammatically correct?
1. Sapporo is a very nice place to stay in summer, but in winter its a very hard place to.
2. Sapporo is very nice to stay in summer, but in winter its very hard to.
Best regards,

Hello FW -
1.Sapporo is a very nice place to stay in summer, but in winter its a very hard place to.
This sentence seems incomplete to me without "stay" at the end. (Sapporo is a very nice place to stay in (I want to put a "the" here) summer, but in winter it's a very hard place to stay.) I am picky and don't like sentences ending with "to."
2.Sapporo is very nice to stay in summer, but in winter its very hard to.
This sentence is wrong. You need a predicate nominative to complete the first part of the sentence. (Sapporo is a very nice...what? The "what" is the predicate nominative.)
Hope that helps - Kristi _________________ "That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much." R.L. Stevenson |
