What does "go about life" mean?

Semi-wild dogs coexist with humans in many underdeveloped areas even today, scavenging for scraps of food and sometimes hunting vermin while the humans around them go about life.

To "go about life" is to do what you would normally do in you life - school, work, shopping, etc.

The passage is highlighting that semi-wild dogs are living among us with little impact on humans.

Hope that helps - Kristi
