I think �that� in the sentence below can be omitted, while one of my friends says he feels it can�t.

I�ve heard my uncle say that the best way to acquire a foreign language is to go to a country where it is spoken.

What do you think?

i think if you leave out that, you may have to put the rest of the quote in these things "", because you are quoting an exact quote.

The exact quote being "the best way to acquire a foreign language is to go to a country where it is spoken."
