How do we read year '2125'?
1) Twenty-one and twenty- five
2) Two thousand and one hundred and twenty-five

well, things are a bit confusing I think.

we say: " the hastings war took place in 1066 (ten-sixty six)"
how do we read 1005?

we are in 2005 (two thousand five ) now.
next year will be 2006 (two thousand six), then 2007 and so on.
so when we come to 2019, aren't we gonna say 'two thousand nineteen'?
then comes ' two thousand twenty'.
When do you think peple will start to say 'twenty twenty' 2020?
or will they?

For 1005 I would say ten oh five

The present trend of saying two thousand and something is probably ok until we try to say 2101. At this point to say twenty one oh one is much shorter and easier to say than two thousand one hundred and one. A Google search shows that the year two thousand and twenty is in more popular than "the year twenty twenty" but both are being used. My guess is that fashion will chose the shorter twenty ten when we reach that date.

I agree with the post just above mine. I think we will be saying "twenty-one, twenty-five."

Just my opinion - Kristi
