Most men are narrow-minded when they are dating! for example, they always ask their girlfriends:"how many ex-boyfriends have you had?"

and after their gfs answer them, most of them become furious and angry!

Sigh! why are they so upset about their gfs' ex-bfs?

Why can't they just let bygones be bygones? Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Exclamation

I would say: because if a girl has left someone before, the possibility is high that she will leave again, and men don't want it happen because it will damage their reputation...

It's a test!
It's a test to see if you are smart enough to lie to protect their feelings. If you tell the truth, it shows you do not care about his feelings.
So tell him what he wants to hear and LIE LIE LIE!
When a guy asks such a stupid question, answer:
How many bf's? None! I've never had a bf before. But I did have 15 lesbian lovers. If you are sweet to me, I'll give you a free membership to my pay-per-view web site where you can see the videos. Wink

Not exaclty the true, I know most of my friends seldom asking their girl-friends the question like that. and for example, I havn't asked my wife this question, althought I knew the past about her thought the communication between us, I don't care about how many ex-boyfriends she had. I just can feel that I love her and she love me deeply, we feel very happy very day with other.

I think most man are not as narrowed-mind as you said, Rose!

Bob, it's not such a test as you imagine! I admit it is a test, but it is for men to check how many ex-bfs their gfs have! You see this problem from a western guy's angle of view, so you don't know Chinese men's thoughts.

Marine, I am sure you are not a narrow-minded guy since you don't care about how many ex-bfs your wife had. In this respect, you belong to minority of men.

Several days ago, my bf asked me such a silly question, and it's not the first time for me to be asked with the same question, I mean, my ex-bfs used to ask me the same question. so when my recent bf asked me, I felt kinda uncomfortable. however, as Zeitgeist said, lovers should be frank to each other. so I told him the truth:"not so many, just 9."

He reacted furiously:" what?? 9?? that's insane!"

I answered:"that's not insane. you are being crazy."

he looked so upset! and such expression was so familiar to me. because my ex-bfs also reacted like that when I told them the truth.

Bob is right! I have to learn to lie, lie lie!! lie to death! Twisted Evil

Why not ask him why he's asking you the question? Explain that if you tell him how many he will get upset. They when he DOES get upset, you can say, "I told you that you would be upset, but I have had that many boyfriends, so I know how good you are, because I have compared and you are the best." Wink

It was a joke. Rolling Eyes I know it's not really a test. (Infrared got the joke!) A guy (anywhere in the world) asks that question because he wants to see what kind of girl you are. And how he feels about that information depends on his intentions. If he is just looking for fun, he won't care if you had hundreds of sex partners. But if he wants to take you home to meet his mommy and make you the mother of his future 64 children, then biologically he would be driven to find someone who is more virginal. He gets upset because you don't meet his hopes for a virgin bride. Right or wrong, you are dealing with primal biology. Sad

Oh, BTW, how are you recovering after the terrible earthquake? Was it near your city? California knows the horrors of quakes. Lorikeet's city is famous for being destroyed about 90-100 years ago.

haha! I love your suggestion, Lorik! then from your suggestion, having too many ex-bfs would be a superiority for dating? Lorikeet, I admire you for your eloquence and wisdom, and wait a minutes, I am gonna call my bf on phone to tell him the same words you taught me, wait, please...

WOOOW! it worked!!! his tone sounded pretty happy and he said:"really? I hope I am the only one who receives the same words from you." Wink

Thanks Lorik!

Bob, 64 kids? hahahahahhahahah! I don't think I am so productive Laughing Laughing Laughing I have a daughter already, and my daughter always drives me nuts. so I don't want kid anymore. Razz

As far as virgin thing, my bf knew I am not a virgin since I have a daughter Laughing I guess it is very challenging and contraversial for a virgin to have a biological daughter Very Happy

Oh, I love you guys! we discuss issues here everyday! and I feel I couldn't live without you guys!

yep, biology is a weird thing.. i personally believe that we are much more guided by our genes and biology than we know now or than we would ever think. Shocked but i'm really curious to find out!!

that's possible! at least with (simple) animals you can do it yet. and bacteria of course Wink i think, generally gene modification is possible, even with humans, and even cloning. the only problem wih it is our ethic and moral values. and i hope that it will never get so far that scientists can modify human genes so that in the end there are only perfect "good" people in the world... Evil or Very Mad sooo boring!
