A baseball diamond is the diamond-shaped area between the bases on a baseball field. However, "baseball diamond" is commonly used to refer to the entire baseball field.

I don't believe it is illegal to spit. If it is, it is rarely enforced.
The quote appears to be a joke. Many baseball players and coaches are known for spitting. Many of them chew tobacco or big wads of gum while playing. |
