Hello kingcobra,
How are you?
Nice to meet you!!!
Walking at a comfortable speed improves heart-lung function. It's also good for general fitness as well as being safe, cheap and convenient. It can be enjoyed alone or with friends.
If you walk regularly you tend to
feel more confident, happy and relaxed
 control your weight better
 have healthier blood cholesterol level
 have lower blood pressure
 have stronger bones (less osteoporosis)
be less likely to have a heart attack
recover better from a heart attack
be less likely to have a stroke
be less likely to develop diabetes in middle age
Take care, |

hey everybody,
I like walking too.
in June ther is a walking-tour or hike in my city.
people from all over the world come to my city to walk this hike.
you walk for 4 days, 30, 40 or 50 kilometres every day.
ther are always a lot of soldiers from America and Canada.
the hike is called: '' de vierdaagse'' ( typical dutch word )
has anyone heard of this hike...
It would surprised me, If somebody know... _________________ --- Monique --- from London temporary... |

Hi moon
yes I think I .have heard of your vierdagsee. It's the hike that goes over 4 days as the name says and I also think there are quite some Swiss people walking along.
We also have some walking events though not as long as those. One that will be the second time in January is the snow walking event in Arosa. There are now three routes you can choose from and it's walking with ( Nordic) or without on paths around the village and the mountains of Arosa.
One which is also genial is the Trans Viamala at the end of October. There they had to limit the number of people to 700 ( including the joggers) as the way through the canyon isn't that large. There are 585 stone steps to overwalk. and it's for the walkers over 16 km, the runners 19 km. It is really an experience you must get trough once.
Take care and enjoy the walks

Hi handsome hunk
Why should walking be a funny topic? It is a mean of sport you can do anywhere and it doesn't need a lot of equipment. It though looks sometimes strange when people really walk and also use their arms. You can use the same clothes as you take for jogging or biking. It's just more comfortable if you wear functional clothing.
Take care
