The sentence below is from an exercise book at hand.
Fill in the blank with a suitable word.
Great difficulties stand in the ( ) of its achievement.
The given answer was way.
My question:
Is the word course not appropriate for the blank?
Best regards,

"Stand in the way" is an expression.
If i stand up to leave the room, and you also stand up, but yo ublock my path, then you will be standing in my way.
in the sentence, "it" is going to make an achievement. The path to its "achievemenmt" is being blocked by "great difficulties", therefore "great difficulties" are standing in its way _________________ ab2146 |
