Arafat has won, but who else won? Nobody. Terror will continue, people will die.

Not very nice to live life like that. I makes me wonder. If this is what religion has done to people, how good can it be Question

Why are we mourning the loss of Abas? He was never going to be able to deliver peace because he never had the respect or the trust of the Palastinian people.

I spoke a couple of weeks ago to a Palastinain who told me that "no Palastinians trust Abas". He was chosen by the Americans and Israelis, not the Palastinains and so was always suspect.

When I asked him who the Palastinian people did trust, who commanded the respect neccesary to restrain the militants the predictable reply was "Yassar Arafat".

That problem has now been solved with a man known to be close to Arafat replacing Abas but more problems remain.

Maybe the people in that area need to stop relying on their "leaders" and start change from the bottom up, so to speak.

There is no part of this world that has not been touched by the stain of Blood and tears. Our history of washing away blood with blood is also our future, as it has been and will continue to be. Nothing will change because we are human and we are failable. It's human nature to destroy and kill. Only those strong of will and heart will be the ones who lead us to a era of peace. Unfortunetly, we currently don't have any of these leaders in power. That's just my opinion though Corey.

What arrogance were you talking about? Is arrogance that Arafat didn`t want Abas to stay a premier-minister, but he didn`t. Arafat wanted it and he got it. He did nothing for making peace. NOTHING. And according to palestinians this man is going to bring them peace? Is it a joke? Palestinians like hime because he hates Israil like they do. Palestinians respect Arafat because he not given any concession to Israil.

It`s impossible to make peace on this land without concessions from both sides. And Abas tried to do through "road map". And he was ready to give some concessions to Israil. And you think he would be being liked by Palestinians for that? You know, who would be the most popular politician among Palestinians? Who would kill every Israils, bomb Tel-Aviv and so on.

The best indicator of ability of some palestnian politician to make peace on this land is a popularity among Palestinians? The more popularity the less his desire to make peace (and so give some concessions).

I`m not sure that Abas was the best man who was able to solve this problem. But firstly Israils believe him (they don`t believe Arafat completly), he started negotians with real limits of claims and concessions, and he agreed to stop terror and to be responsible for this terror in future because he would had signed "Road map" with this claim.

So, according to you we can make a conclusion that leaders of Hamas and Hesbalah are the best men who able to give peace. Because they are adorable by Palestinians because they have been killing Israils. And who has been looking after these leaders? MR.ARAFAT. Yeah, that`s nice groupe for making peace with Israil. THE NIGHTMARE.
