Albert Einstein wrote this riddle early during the 19th century. He said that 98% of the world's population would not be able to solve it. Are you in the 2%? There are no tricks, just pure logic. I promise it's doable because I just did it and I got the right solution!!
ALBERT EINSTEIN'S RIDDLE

HINTS

2. The Swede keeps dogs as a pet.
3. The Dane likes to drink tea.
4. The green house is on the left of the white house.
5. The owner of the green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall keeps a bird.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.

Hello!
I agree with asterix, the correct answer is - The German!
The riddle itself is not so difficult though you need to spend some time on thinking it over
You've chosen it 'cause you come from Germany??? _________________ "Understand that hapiness is not based on possesions, power or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect"

I just want to give other people the chance to think about the riddle without knowing the solution
No, I didn't chose it because I'm German and I have no fish as a pet actually, I have no pet at all, but I like to have a dog..
you're right, it's not really difficult. I started several times to think about it but I didn't have the energy and the patience to go on, so I gave up. Today I found the best starting point, and i needed only about ten minutes to get the solution so I wanted to share it with you!

Yep, you're absolutely right, it's all about being patient and focused on examining everything in real details. That's why I hate such riddles, not only they're often beyond my understanding, but even getting deeply engaged in analyses is not an interesting perspective. You know, it's like everything seems to be obvious and in the right order at first. You say "Ok, it's not that hard" and get down to making out the sense of the riddle. Then, after a while, everything gets really complicated and you realize you've mess something up. It's like a method of wasting your time. Maybe i'm too dumb to understand its hidden sense or something.
I've noticed you're kinda interested in Physics, is that true? That discussion about the absorption of light, mostly with Admiral and now Albert Einstein
That's really impressive, can't imagine myself saying anything convincing on this subject.
Tschs!(I can never come up with a German word for "greeting" ) _________________ "Understand that hapiness is not based on possesions, power or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect"

yeah, I'm really interested in Physics (one of my main subjects in school), but also in other (natural) sciences, like biology (my other main subject), psychology... It's so fascinating!
so you've seen our discussion? wonderful! see, I'm always willing to agree with everyone (<-- ironic..)
with me it's mostly the same. I think those riddles are really fascinating but I never (or almost) can make up enough energy to stick to it.. i'm much too impatient for that although, this Einstein riddle with the statement "Over 98% of the world population is not able to sove it" was kind of a magnet for me so now i've solved it, finally.

nooooooooo.................
the definition of normal is: like most of the others
From this, it's logical that "unnormal" is defined for the "minority of the others". _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I love inside you everyone else. I love the whole world because of you. I also love myself inside you" |

okay, then we should take it as a compliment
You know what? I think this whole thing with these percentage points is a load of *beep*! This riddle is a kind of exercise, so it automatically means it's completely doable. It only requires some effort from you Admiral... Come on, I thought you're more ambitious _________________ "Understand that hapiness is not based on possesions, power or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect"
