2. I visited my uncle in Australia a few days ago.

1. is not grammatical. #2 is correct. "Few days" without "a" could be a more poetic usage as in "Few days have passed that did not carry the memory of that evening we met in Rio." _________________ "This is insolence up with which I will not put."
