There have been people "disappearing" after they remarked about Fa Lun Gong in China. One particular Caucasian said something like "Fa Lun da fa is good" in Mandarin while he's at Tienanman square and has not been seen since. I could try to dig up the details, but my point is that the People's Armed Police is essentially an intelligence agency. They will mark you as a "national security breach" if you don't watch your mouth, be it in public spaces or on the Internet. Better be careful than sorry.

He doesn't have to practice Fa Lun Gong to think Fa Lun da fa is good. The point is something that is perfectly fine in his current location might not only be frowned upon in China but also outlawed. Let's say he gets into a debate with a local about whether or not the Chinese government is oppressing the Fa Lun Gong practitioners. In the heat of the moment, fountainhead exclaims "Fa Lun da fa is good!" angrily. Someone calls a paranoid police officer over. Outcome?

Not pretty.

I have said more than hundred times in China, you know, close-contact-fighting school. I said: "Maybe falungong is a nice martial art."
And I'm alive now, see?

What I mean: "China has so many people that the police is not able to control all of them. Simply don't do demos for falungong and then nothing will happen."

Hey, come on, I'm Chinese, am I not supposed to know?

I have no doubt about what you said. However, that is not the same as saying *it does not happen*. It has happened before, and it could happen again. It doesn't really matter if you could say it 100 times without getting into troubles, all you need is just screwing up ONCE and you would be done for. So, again, better be careful than sorry. The best thing to do is just avoid discussing those types of things completely.
