They are interchangeable in my opinion.

Yes, they are interchangeable. However, Standard English does not accept till, 'till, or til. You would be well advised always to use until.

Dear teachers,

So "until" is not formed of the prefix "un" + the root "till", is it? Is it the case though of the word "unless" = "un" + "less"?

But in both cases the stress is on the second syllable, is it?

Yes, both are stressed on the second syllable.

Accoring to askoxford.com:

until - ORIGIN from Old Norse und �as far as� + TILL (the sense thus duplicated).

unless- ORIGIN from ON or IN + LESS.
