Today's my mom's 60-year-old birthday. I called her on phone to greet her birthday. I said:"mom, today is your birthday. I don't know what to say... would you like some compliments from me?" my mom answered:"I rather not!!! I know, when you are complimenting someone, actually you are not meaning it! besides, I hope you are normal, if you compliment me, I would feel you must have some problem!" Laughing Laughing

You see, this's the way for a Chinese mom to talk to her daughter. maybe foreigners can't understand it Wink I watched some movies from Hollywood, I found western moms always hug and kiss their kids, even when their kids are adults. but Chinese people are too shy to do it Embarassed we'd rather tease each other. western people can't understand that either Laughing maybe that's what culture shock means.

One of these days, I'm going to give my mother-in-law a big hug. It will probably cause her to have a massive heart attack! Twisted Evil

A big wet sloppy kiss for your mom and Happy Birthday to her!
