Hi Anninha,
In my opinion, you can use both in this case.
I need an office to myself, so I can get some work done.
I need an office to myself so that I can get some work done.
In the first sentence, "I can get some work done" is an independent clause connected by the conjunction "so."
In the second sentence, "that I can get some work done" is a noun clause that answers so "what?"
