It seems that the censors busy little scissors have been snipping again.
I don't like censors. There were enough in Soviet Union. I don't expect to find them in Land of the "free" and the home of the brave.
I think if you're going to delete anyone's post, you ought to at least give a reason.
I realise religion is a prickly subject especially to fundamentalists, but god knows, they are the ones who need a wake up call.

To my mind posting 20 posts all about one theme is a very stupid thing.
And this stupid thing should at least be corrected a little, I mean, what do you want with 30 postings all about Koran?

I sent an e-mail to Dave about some people's concerns, and I asked him what, if anything, he wanted to do about it. He hasn't responded to me, so I haven't done anything. I don't know what he or anyone else did. I was waiting for some direction, since it's his site.

Maybe you should open a page called "Religion" or "Social Studies" or something, but don't censor just because someone has an opinion that differs from whatever it is that the muslims, or the christians, or the jews, or the buddhists, believe.
Most of the big breakthroughs in knowledge in the history of the world have been made by people who thought differently from the accepted wisdom of the time.
I would have no problem with you censoring deliberately offensive language and personal insults, but you already have software in place that tries to do that.

To Admiral... Didn't we just have a vast discussion about the properties of light that went way beyond twenty posts? No doubt everyone's eyes were glazed over by the time you finally got it.
Rolling Eyes
Because some people don't know how to follow a thread is not a reason to censor.

I only opened one thread, right?
I didn't open 20.

edit: And don't tell me you understood it, because you wasn't slightly of help.

I don't have any power to open anything. If you want something you can tell Dave.

hmm. you can't say it like this. admiral definitely got a point in what he said, or about what he was in doubt.
generally, in physics or chemics or whatever, it's assumed that a coloured material absorbs the wavelength of the white light which are complementary to the colour we see.
but have you ever heard of the so-called Fraunhofer lines? look here: Wikipedia
these are a set of spectral lines. the lines were originally observed as dark features in the optical spectrum of the sun. but if a certain chemical element absorbs some wavelength of the sunlight, then why does the sunlight still appear white to us? then it should appear in the complenentary colour to those which are absorbed by the element. this is one thing which would speak for admiral's theory. but i just think that because we generally don't know how the elements/atoms are exactly made up or which characteristics they finally really have, the physicians just have agreed in the absorbing theory because it maybe explains more things or is easier to understand or whatever.
you see? it's not as if admiral was totally wrong, although he got some sentences wrong.

and at last: stop it you two, it's not really entertaining if you just are mad at each other. Wink
greets Very Happy

Question
The sun appears kind of yellow to me. Are my eyes bad? Supposedly in a few billion years it will turn orange, then red.

No doubt this is because Allah hates the viscosity of Jesus's blood which was used to write the Koran in China 5000 years ago because he likes Bollywood actresses but really really really hates the Yasukuni shrine. Razz
