Dear teachers,

Do we normally say: "these patterns of behaviour are unacceptable" or "these behaviour patterns are unacceptable"?

Is there another expression / collocation which is used with "behaviour"?

Many thanks,
Hela

Both of the expressions should do just fine.

Of course we say, "These patterns of behaviour are unacceptable." I say it everyday to my kids, and twice over the weekend. Everyone does. It is one of the most widely used sayings in any normal household. You can hear it on everyones lips in any part of the world. And I am sure you have heard it used many times in your country.

And for other expressions / collocations used with behaviour there are such expressions as, Stoppit you little hooligans. Belt up for gods sake. Put those joints away. No smoking in the toilets. Put that girl down at once. There are hundreds of such expressions and collations. Surely you must have heard them? Everyone uses collocations every day of their lives. Just keep your ears open. Bloody kids is my favourite.
