Hello, teachers.
1.Recently, atrocious crimes have been reported in the newspaper almost every day.
2.Nowadays, atrocious crimes are reported in the newspaper almost every day.
Which sentence is correct?
Thank you in advance!

They are both correct. Notice that the verb tenses change with the different words.
There is a slightly different stress on time:
"Recently" refers to a short time ago (in the past).
"Nowadays" refers to now.
I hope this helps.
