Dear Friends,

Let's go to Rome!

This is the seminar ''promotion letter'' which I received from the organizers, so read carefully:

What is the fastest way for Europe to become ONE

- Seminar -

Organization: One Europe No Borders (OnEnoB), Student Organization
Place: Rome, Italy
Date: 2nd 8th May 2006
Number of the participants: 220
Eligible countries: All countries
Application deadline: 1st March 2006
Participation fee: 55 euros (food and accommodation are included)
The 60 % of travel fee will be refunded to every person when he/she arrives.

Seminar Goals

We have very specific expectations about the seminar and few goals to achieve. Generally speaking:
WE WANT you to get inspired and learn something new
WE WANT you to have unforgettable experience plus as much fun as you can
handle

Less generally speaking our aims are:

1) To promote freedom of speech and openness for different point of views; to fight the stereotypes and increase tolerance between young people of different nationalities. We would like to prove that cultural differences are not the obstacles in cooperation and understanding. The cultural diversity should be rather treated as an inspiring factor. The aim of the conference is to discuss and sometimes argue but always respect each other and remain friends.
2) To increase the young peoples knowledge of the role, activities, effectiveness, threats, opportunities of the EU. We strongly believe that students from the EU countries should not close themselves in their own world of prosperity and cooperation. We cannot forget about the rest of the Europe while integrating the Europe and building our European future. We would like to know more to help better.
3) To get to know what we, young people, think about the EU.
4) To create the sense of responsibility for both local and international problems. We would like to encourage young people to be active members of the civil society and to involve in public life and discussion. The conference aims to encourage and promote active participation.
5) To promote non-formal education. We believe that this kind of activity, which is based on a free choice and not obligation, which is combined with friendly and cosmopolitan atmosphere, is a powerful and very effective form of education.
6) All in all, the most important goal of the conference might be summed up as the igniting the need and desire of active engagement in shaping the common future of the EU.

We strongly believe that in the beginning of the XXI century, in the era of internet and globalization, creating such meeting places for young people is extremely important. It's never been so easy for people from all over the world to communicate and, thus, we hope that the friendships once established will survive and work for our better understanding of each other in the future.
During the Seminar in Rome 2006 we want to encourage young people to take initiatives and come up with their own solutions for the EU and Non-EU problems and issues. We believe that the young peoples' potential is huge and hope to pull the trigger during Seminar in Italy... We will try to inspire YOU.

See you in Rome!

Sincerely yours,
Giampiero Cossato, promoter

20th January 2006.
Student Organization-OnEnoB,
00165 Rome,
Italy
