Rolling EyesWhich sentence is common or correct ?
(1) I was disappointed to know the result.
(2) I knew the result to be disappointed.
If bothe of them are correct, what is the difference ?  |

The first one is correct. A person can be disappointed (feel unhappy that a result wasn't as good as he or she had expected or hoped it would be). A result cannot be disappointed. It can be disappointing, though.  |
