Which is grammatically correct and proper for the blank below?
Jennifer is ten years old. She has ( ). He is sixteen.
1. a brother Bill
2. a brother, Bill

This is difficult to answer because the rule has changed. In the past, one would always use a comma to set off a name. However, in recent years the comma has been omitted.
I would use #1, but if the question is from an old textbook you might find that #2 is listed as the correct answer.
