Hello stone88,
About is correct.
When used as a preposition as it is here, about can mean in reference to; relating to; or concerned with.
The word in does not have the same sense of being related to something else. Additional explanation would have to be given, as in this example:
"Most schools are quite strict in their rules regarding the way students dress."
This is a very subtle distinction. I can see why it might cause confusion. I hope my answer has been helpful to you.
