Please help. Are the sentences below possible? If no, please corrct. If yes, please suggest some other expressions which convey the same meaning. Thanks so much.
A wafer with good flatness should be used for an exclusive use.
A wafer which is highly flat should be used for a dedicated use.
A wafer here is a very thin slice of a semiconductor crystal. |

Hello tisogai,
You have used the words exclusive and dedicated. I do not know the exact meaning you are trying to convey with these words, so it is a bit difficult to respond to your request.
I'm guessing you want to say something like this:
A wafer with a high degree of flatness should be reserved for a high-performance application.
A wafer with flatness meeting the very highest standards should be reserved for use in applications which require wafers of the highest quality.
If this is not helpful please provide more specific information about the meaning of your sentences and I will try again. |

Hello Meadowlark, thanks so much for the help.
It is helpful. The part I basically wanted to know was "a wafer with a high degree of flatness".
The meaning I was trying to express was "Only a wafer with a high degree of flatness should exclusively be used". (as a base/standard/gauge use)
Does it make sense? I might have made it even more complicated.....
Thanks again.

OK! Now I see where you're going. Here are a few more sentences which may give you some helpful ideas:
In establishing the standard of quality, it is essential that only a wafer with the highest degree of flatness be used.
It is important that a wafer with the highest degree of flatness be used to set the standard.
When choosing a specimen to serve as the model of excellence by which other wafers will be judged, one must look for a wafer with a superior degree of flatness. |
