Is an article unnecessary in the following?
Please look at picture No. 1 in front of you.
Is it correct or not? Do we have to say, "Please look at the picture No. 1 in front of you"? |

Is it correct or not? Do we have to say, "Please look at the picture No. 1 in front of you"?
You don't need "the picture" in this sentence. This is because it already is clear which picture people are being asked to look at (Picture No. 1).
But you would say "Please look at the picture in front of you" instead of "Please look at picture in front of you." It's also possible to say "Please look at the first picture in front of you." |
