As I know, the base word is: HEADACHE. But why we say 'a pill for headacheS or 'Higher prices will cause headacheS

A pill for (your many) headaches.
Higher prices will cause headaches (for everyone).

There are different types of headache so the pill is suitable for helping to relieve many different kinds.
Higher prices will cause headaches in many people, so I would think it is plural for that reason. |
