Can I say "Reading is to the mind as food is to the body."
or "Reading is to the mind like food is to the body."
or "Reading is to the mind as if food is to the bosy."

Thank you. Laughing

Hi wanderer,

Your title sentence is more correct.

Reading is to the mind what food is to your body.

But are the 3 sentences written by me grammaticaly right?

1.Reading is to the mind as food is to the body.
2.Reading is to the mind like food is to the body.
3.Reading is to the mind as if food is to the bosy.

I know the title must be right. I just want to know if there are the other ways to express.

Thanks.

Hi wanderer,

They would be grammatically correct as edited below.

1.Reading is to the mind as food is to the body.
2.Reading is to the mind like food is to the body.
3.Reading is to the mind as if it were food to the body. (a little awkward)

4.Reading is to the mind what food is to the body.
5.Reading is to the mind what food is to your body.

If I had to pick, I would pick 2 or 4. Your title sentence is still a winner!
