Hello,
My question is:
In this sentence, "The waiter drops off menus and two glasses of water."
What does "drop off" here mean?
I appreciate your reply. |

It means that the waiter leaves these things as he is passing by.
It's an unusual verb to describe the way a waiter would usually do his work. You can only assume that , in context, the writer is trying to say or describe a rather casual, unprofessional manner from the waiter. |
