Based on your question, i think the four skills are important to consider as a lerners who considered themself as a "English language students".
there are studies that have been done regarding the problem for Malaysian students especially for the Malay leraners.. the level of their proficiency in the speaking skills are the weakest skills that they had problem with.

what do you think as a students from Malaysia?
do you have any problems in the speaking skills. Smile
and one more thing....

do you think that there are advantages in learning speaking and listening through website...what are the pro and con using this method....

Very Happy Arrow

For me,i think the four skills are important to consider as a lerners who considered themself as a "English language students".If you are not good in your listening skills you can't write or speak to the point that they are arqueving. How can you improve your listening skills if you not understand about writing and speaking..

in my opinion.......
i think the four skills are also the main skills to learn english.
this is because, reading is important for ones to gain new information, vocub and to improve grammar,
while, listening is very important to make sure one attact to a text,
speaking is important, so that one can exchange information and also communicate with others
while writing is very important too for one to convey her mesage and also to share any information.
from this we can say that, four skills also very important to learn a language effectively....

In my point of view, the four skills are extremely important to consider as a lerners who considered themself as a "English language students". As a language student we cannot only stick to only one skill. we need to master all those skills to improve ourself.

Actually I'm agree to Jessinta's reply on your question ( which skill is important in learning English).

As a language learner we should balance all the four ( listening, speaking, reading, writing) skills to learn a language in correct order. If we are weak in one of these skill, definitely we could not learn or master the language properly. So if you want to be the good user of language, then you should pay attention to the four skills that you have mentioned.

thanks.
