I'm sure there are some people who will tell you that the English in comics is not good and that they are bad for you to spend your time on. However, I think almost anything you read in English can help, as long as you realize that you should check before you use some of the expressions. There are some words and phrases that are only appropriate in certain circumstances. You don't want to make mistakes and use them in the wrong place. (The kind of language you use with your good friends isn't usually the same as the language you would use with your boss, for example.)
My kids read a lot of comic books when they were young. It was actually good for their vocabulary development. Of course they read books too, and they are native speakers. However, I think any exposure is helpful to non-native speakers, especially if you think it's fun. There are also "classic comic books" that tell famous fiction stories in comic form. Sometimes seeing the pictures can help you understand the idea. Some people think they are terrible because they aren't the original classic book. My students have enjoyed them because they don't have to read with their noses in a dictionary all the time.
