Dear Teachers,
1.From now on, were completely two strangers, you go your way, I go my way, if we meet each other outside in the street, just pretend that we dont know each other, ok?
2. Can you do press-ups?
-Can you swim the butterfly?
-Can you swim the breast-stroke?
-Can you swim free-style/ the crawl?
-Can you swim the backstroke?
-Can you swim the dog-paddle?
3. Have you ever dived in the sea with a oxygen cylinder/ a scuba?
-How long can you hold your breath in the water?
-Are 1, 2 & 3 natural to say?
-Thanks a lot to Teachers,
Stevenukd. |

I'd call "press-ups" "push-ups" instead, but maybe this is a British/American difference.
If you're having a conversation about swimming, it's more natural to say "Can you do the butterfly?" and use "do" in place of "swim" before any of the strokes that are "the [something]."
A few others:
Can you swim free-style (freestyle) ?
Can you dog-paddle? --dog-paddle is understood to be a type of swimming, so no need to use the verb "swim"

*with anoxygen cylinder / with an oxygen tank // (it might be more natural to say ocean instead of sea)
*with scuba gear
"How long can you hold your breath in the water?" --good; in place of "in the water," "underwater" can also be used. |
