Hello, teachers.
Does the following sentence make sense when I want to say "Things often develop in unexpected ways." ?
Things often make unexpected development/evolution .
Thank you in advance!

Hi Junkomama,
Another way to say it is:
Things often evolve/develop unexpectedly.
The way you've said is pretty good:
Things often develop/evolve in unexpected ways.
"Things often make unexpected development(s)/evolution."
The reason why this sentence sounds strange is that development and evolution "happens" to the things. The "things" do not actively make the change. It might be appropriate, however, if we specify what "thing" was.
The financial marketplace often make unexpected moves/developments.
