Hi,
I am wondering how to add a tag question when it comes to do with "had better" sentence. e.g. I'd better call the police, didn't I? hadn't I? won't I? shouldn't I? Which one is the proper or more common to native speakers' ears?
Thanks in advance. |

The full form of " I'd better " is " I had better " so -
"hadn't I?" - is the only correct tag to use.
Native speakers might use 'shouldn't I? ' when they are very uncertain about what action to take.
They would never use 'didn't I?' or 'won't I?'. |
