Immediately after Hurricane Katrina, gas prices rose by 50% or more. Many people felt the oil companies were gouging them, taking advantage of the bad situation.
During a major blackout a few summers ago in the north of the U.S., some stores were gouging their customers by charging $10 for a Coke. |
