I can see where that kind of situation might have made some people uncomfortable, but I was * tickled pink*, and the boss's wife was very thoughtful about not putting me in the middle.....

embarrassed?

Thanks

You can be tickled pink to receive a letter from a friend you've been missing. You can get tickled pink if you get a really nice birthday present. You can be tickled pink if you hear some good news, such as the news that you passed a very difficult exam.

It means you are so happy you look as though someone has tickled you until you turned from a pale colour to a pink colour.
