I come from Wuxi, Jiangsu province of China.
Wuxi is a modern city. There are many famous places of great interset.
There are three very famoue places for shoot film or TV. If you are luck enough, you can see some actors in the place.
Wuxi's weather is very well. Not very hot in summer, and not very cold in winnter. In Wuxi, the environment is good. There are many beautiful parks, like Yuantouzhu Park, LiHu park and so on.
So come to Wxi for your holiday is a good choose. _________________ Well begin is half done!

I am a Chinese girl. I have lived in China over 20 years. China is a good country I think. Most Chinese people are friendly to foreigners. People from different countries are all treated well.
Chinese culture is too much to understand for a foreigner. People who are different nations have different culture. But there is some similar culture in China. For example, families always get together on the Spring Festival. They eat dinner, watch TV and chat together. It is the happiest day in a year for many Chinese people, as Christmas in western countries. People should eat special food on particular days, like Middle Autumn Day. People have to eat moon cakes on that day.
There is much other culture in China; some of them are very interesting. I like them, because I can learn many things about China from them. _________________ I like shudying English! |

Hello I am from Paderborn, a town next to Bielefeld in Germany and my husband is a Yorkshire Lad, so we are having two cultures really in our family, so typically German style as from myself and my family and the typically yorkshire culture, which says that a woman belongs behind the oven to make sure that the food is on table for tea time when the husband comes back from work. Or that the man decides what to do and the woman got no right to say something to it. So you can imagine it is always something we can fight about but the two cultures are in one lad, our son who is now half english and half german and grows up with the two languages and speaks them two fluently already. So but I cant tell you anything about Argentina. Apart from Madonna I cant say anything about it. but I like the song of her.
I hope that gives enough informations.
Bye for now

I'm from Brazil too, Rio Grande do Sul like foreverandever. This state is located on the highest south of Brazil.
Of course I know Argentina, our "hermanos" as they like to say. Good luck for you on the World Cup I hope Brazil win again, but they are too much proud of themselves that many surprises might happen.
Ah, here in Rio Grande do Sul we say "tu" for "you", just like Argentina.
I guess that's it, see you. |
Hi
I have been twice at Rio Grande do Sul fo summer holidays.
The first time I was there I stayed in Torres, and the last time I travelled through Rio Grande do Sul to Santa Catarina and met Florianpolis before staying for two weeks in a little town called Armaao.
I really liked the place and the sea. People is very kind and get on well with us, Argentinians. I have very good memories from Brasil and I would really like to return some day.
But here in Argentina we dont say "tu" for "you". We say "vos". |

Brasil is a beautiful country too, but I only know its southern provinces as Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. It has very kind people.
And yes, many people think in Latinoamrica as Brasil only.
Are there many diferences between the Portuguese you speak in Portugal and the one in Brasil? |
A lot of differences! You see, sometimes I watch RAI, the Portuguese channel broadcasted in Brazilian satelite TV, and I have to make an effort to understand everything which is being said. It's funny because I kind of feel the same in relation to American English and British English: I find the former easier to understand, although I learned English in a British English course ("Cultura Inglesa"). I believe it happens because in Brazil we are more exposed to American movies and songs.
Other accents make things even harder... a week ago I was watching an interview at BBC with an Irish author... I could hard understand what he said. It's also hard to understand what australians say. _________________ Stormy Weather. |

Well, thats always relative. Most of it depends, as you say, in the way that English has been taught to you. I find it easier to understand British English than American English, and I like British English more than American.
It are the same differences that you would find between Spanish from Argentina and from Spain. I can understand Portugese from Portugal better than the one from Brazil because its entonation is similar to Spanish, but I also understand Brazilian Portuguese very well. We have very similar languages. |

Yes, this is true. For you, learning Portuguese must be no challenge, as it is not a challenge for me learning Spanish. I can understand and read in Spanish with no difficult, but I can't speak or write so well. That's why I'm attending Spanish classes next semester.
Some argue that Spanish and Mandarin are the languages of the future, for they will surpass English in the coming years: while the number of English speakers will decline, the number of Spanish and Mandarin speakers will increase. Of course it will take a long time before it happens, but I want to be prepared for this new era.... _________________ Stormy Weather. |
