Does the word benefit take the appositional that? Can we say, for example, The system gives us the benefit that we can live comfortably'?

Hi Takeda,

The sentence seems awkward. I would say "The system gives us the benefit of living comfortably."

The use of "that" with "benefit" seems to occur primarily in sentences where "benefit" refers to a payment received from a pension, insurance policy or public assistance program as in "You have received an estimated benefit that is too low to cover the actual cost of the services received."

For what it's worth, Google gives 140,000,000 results for "benefit of" and only 5,240,000 for "benefit that".
