Dear Teachers,
1.Were still holding hands, and acting like weve only just met.
- I think only here is redundant, right?
2.Why dont you take me to somewhere that Ive never been to?
- Is this natural?
3.Everybody is talking her down.
- What does talk down mean here?
4.He doesnt care what they say.
- I think care about is better, right?
5.No, they dont know what hes all about.
-What does hes all about mean here?
Thanks very much to Teachers,

1. "only" is redundant, but it's not wrong in this sentence --it acts to intensify "just" in "just met" and make the contrast stronger.
2. Yes -- saying "~somewhere that I've never been" or "somewhere I've never been" can also be acceptable.
3. I'm not sure what it means exactly, but I can think of 2 possibilities:
a) Everyone is insulting her / saying bad things about her
b) Everyone is talking to her to calm her down (because she's upset or angry or emotional)
4. "care about" might be better, but #4 in the way you typed it is fine --it would be common to hear something like, "I don't care what you say!"
5. It means they don't know what he's really like // his true personality // his hobbies/interests // what his values and beliefs are -- basically, "they" lack some kind of detailed knowledge about "him." |
