Hi,

Can we say "the most favourite dish"? I have a feeling that "favourite" means 'what you like the most' already, so the use of "most" will be redundant.

Please enlighten me =)

Thanks,

Nawee

Good catch. "The most favorite" is redundant.

However, and there is always a however in English, I might say "the most favorite school lunch in a survey is pizza." This would mean many people deemed their favorite to be pizza, so pizza got the most "favorite" votes. Probably not going to see this example much, but you will hear "the most favorite" a lot. (This will not be correct, but you will hear it.
