Which is correct? And why?
1. The path leads direct to the lake.
2. The path leads directly to the lake.
Which is correct? And why?
1. Answer me direct.
2. Answer me directly.
Which is correct? And why?
1. I can go direct to Chicago.
2. I can go directly to Chicago.

In all cases "B" is the correct form. The sentences call for adverbs. (They answer the "How" of the verb."

In my dictionary, "direct" could be used as an adverb too. However, in comparison, "directly" seems more like an adverb. Laughing
