1. Nursery school is before kindergarten.
--good, maybe use "comes" instead of "is"
2. Children have emotional needs. They need your love and they need your attention.
--good, but the second sentence could be shortened to "They need your love and attention" ~the meaning is still the same.
3. Journals are usually harder to read than magazines.
--good
4. Taking a lavender bath can reduce your stress and exhaustion.
--good; I might say "relieve" instead of "reduce"
5. Sports players are not allowed to have cortisol shots before games.
6. If you are in jail, you cant interact with the outside world.
--good
7. A pregnant woman with AIDS can pass on the virus to the unborn child.
8. A stay-at home man is like two full time jobs because youngsters have lots of energy.
--"stay-at-home-man" isn't a normal phrase; maybe man => mom? It could be "dad," but not "man." Either way, I would say, "Being a stay-at-home-*** is like having two full-time jobs..."
9. Our brain regulates our behavior.
--good, though "The brain" is also possible.
10. The new movie is going to be released next week.
--good
11. Madonna is going to release her new CD.
--good
12. Abraham Lincoln urged Southerners to free the slaves.
13. She is not in good financial condition. She is very broke.
--good; however, in my opinion, you can't be "very broke"; either you're broke, or you're not. Still, you'll hear people saying, "I'm so broke this week," so I guess an adverb of degree is acceptable.
14. Before a teacher becomes a professional, she should observe lots of classes.
--good, though I would say "many" instead of "lots of." ("Many" sounds better and more formal here.) |
