Anyone has seen The Statue of Liberty?
Wow......it is so pretty!
How I wish that I could see it myself!
But now,I have just seen it on TV,in the books!
I have never go to the USA,so I haven't seen it before!
But I still hope that my dream will come true one day!

I have. But I have an advantage: I live in New York City. Wink

Do you know what most tourists say when they see the Statue of Liberty?

"Oh, I thought it'd be bigger!"

I guess in comparison with all the tall buildings nowadays, it doesn't look as impressive as it once did....

Yes, I live in New York City.

I think it is a nicer city to visit than to live in. Wink It is a lot of fun for tourists, but it is very expensive, too, so it can be a difficult place to live. I think many large cities are like that, don't you?

What is your city famous for?

hi Jintii,

Is it hard to live in NY? because here ( at the other side of the world) you hear so manny stories about living in the states.
not because it's so expensive but more about criminals and those people who makes the street un-save.

In 2 years I'll go to the US to study international business in Phoenix, Arizona. Cool ( when I finished the international business studies over here)
I guess Phoenix is much different then NY.

my city is famous for nothing Confused I live in ''Nijmegen'' which is a little city in the netherlands ( east) But ofcourse everybody knows Amsterdam. I've been there 2 times, and it is.... I don't know... A mess. really a mess.
nice to see for once, but not to live in. and Amsterdam is very expensive too.

I hope you add a post reply
Bye bye
Monique

A lot of people have that impression of the US. But really, it's not like in the movies. Wink

New York is like any big city -- some neighborhoods are safer than others. With 9 million people living in one city (and another 7 or 8 million within commuting distance), of course there is some crime. But I have lived here for 15 years without any major problems.

Phoenix is very different from New York! I hope when you're there that you have a chance to travel around the Southwest a little. There are a lot of interesting places to go north of Phoenix in the "Four Corners" area (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah). It's my favorite part of the US!

Why do you consider Amsterdam a mess?

hi, (again Razz)

I consider Amsterdam is a mess, because there are junkies every where. and people who are drunk, and there is trash everywhere.

It's great to see, but just for once.
I hope I can travel a lot when I'm in the states. I've had family over there, and heard so manny stories...
however, they don't live there anymore, so I've to go there by my own Cool

Have you ever been too europe?

Yes, I have been to Europe a few times. I have visited England, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy, but never the Netherlands. I spent more time in Spain and southern Italy than anywhere else, and I hope to be able to go back there again sometime. But until then, I think I'll be staying on this side of the Atlantic. Smile

Where would you like to travel some day?

I live in Philadelphia, which is only about 2 hours away from New York... I've been to the Statue of Liberty... they say it doesn't look that big, TRY WALKING UP IT. It's a hell of a walk up!

I've also been on top of the Empire State Building, now that's creepy as hell looking down... you're so high up.

Well, I travel a lot in England, France and German. I like England the most Smile ( nice people, beautifull nature etc. )
I really would like to go to your side of the atlantic. Wink
I've ralatives there and manny of my aunts and uncles are born there (near NY) So, that's something I really want.
But first I'll go to Phoenix, Arizona, for that school I told you Wink
And after that I would like to go to that village near NY.
So I hope I'll see the statue of liberty once.
