In the below examples, which is correct and why?
1.This morning's weather forecast said we'll have a thunderstorm this afternoon.
2.This morning's weather forecast said we would have a thundersorm this afternoon.

1. is correct depending on what time of day it is when you say it.
If you say it at noon, it is correct to say that we'll have a thunderstorm this afternoon. In other words, the time has not passed and the situation still remains true and is still in the future.
2. is correct at any time. |
