the issue of taiwan has existed for a long time. some people think that the reason that china government can not reoccupy taiwan is chinese government never really use force. is it true? if china really start the civil war , which one will be dominant, the advantages or the disadvantages?

Taiwan will not declare war on China. Can you say that China will not declare war on Taiwan?
I think not.
The government of Taiwan is answerable to its people.
The government of China is not.
Because the government of China is not answerable to its people, but is an unelected dictatorship, they are the real threat to peace in the area.

The People's Republic of China always claims that the Taiwan belongs to it,but in fact,Taiwan has never belonged to it .The People's Republic of China also often threats to use force to attack Taiwan if necessary ,the mainland china is real threat to the peace.

As pugachevVsaid, the People's Republic of Chian is unelected dictatorship regimes, not only they always treat their people poorly, also they treat their neighbors unfriendly, for examples, invade India in 1960s ,attack Vietnam in 1970s and have battles with Russian three decades ago.

Why is the mainland China is a real threat to the peace?

First ,the government of People's Republic of Chian is a small communist groop which they can eaily decide whether or when they use forces .

Second ,in order to control their domestic crisis such as the issues of corruption and social unfair ,they may take risks to launch a war so that they can change the focus of demestic crisis into international issues, and they can use military rules to manage their government and control their people.

Third,Taiwan wants peace, they have made many announcements that they are willing to unite with mainland china if the mainland china becomes democracy. But the mainland china has never shown that they want to become democratic country. So in fact,it's not the Taiwan doesn't want to unite with the mainland,it 's that the mainland china really doesn't want to unite with the Taiwan. What they really want is that they want to control their people illegally for ever.

Finally,if mainland china dare to take risks to launch a war against Taiwan,it is very possilbe that their people will overturn the communist government and China will become real democratic country which their people can really enjoy their freedom and prosperitis.

I want to ask Itp-008, how many years you have lived in China?
how much do you know about China?
you are so facetiosity.
we are Chinese and we live in China more than 25years.
And we know about the history, the culture of China not only from the history books but also from our elderships, the net work(domestic and overseas), and so on.
If you want to talk about this topic, please first study the true history about Taiwan province.
The people who defaces China without evidence maybe have ulterior motives.

I don't intend to cause quarrel, please be calm.

I am not going to tell you how many years I had lived in mainland china, but I can tell you how much I know mainland china, because I have a few chinese frineds from the mainland china,so I can know mainland china 's history and culture.

I know Repulic of China overturned the qing dynasty in 1912 ,the Republic of China withdrew to Taiwan from mainland china during china civil war in 1949,the People 's Republic of Chian only was established in 1949 and has never controlled Taiwan since then.So it is right to say that Tainwan doesn't belong to the People 's Republic of Chian.Taiwan belongs to Republic of Chian.

So you 're better to understand the meaning of 'China",I hope you could understand who is the Republic of China ,who is the People's Republic of Chian.Taiwan was a province of the Republic of China before 1949,since 1949,Taiwan has been the Republic of .China.Do you understand what I
mean?

At this time ,you may be in mainland china,I think you should read ,listen or watch more oversea media,if you do,you would understand the history of China more all-sided.Good luck!

I want to ask Itp-008 what is brainwash.
I think brainwash is just what you are doing.^_^
I am a Chinese who have conscience.
I am a master of mathematics, like others, my time is also valuable.
I don't want to quarrel with sb.,
I just say out what I think about this topic.
But now I feel there isn't significance to process.
Because the precondition is so different.
I think well-meaning is different from baleful, involuntary is so different from intendid.

Isabelle, you should be very careful about linking a person's knowledge of a country with the length of time they have spent there. What you are saying is that it IMPOSSIBLE to learn things in any other way than by directly experiencing them. What about the Internet for example? Are you suggesting that it IMPOSSIBLE to learn using the Internet? You and other Chinese people have spent years learning about China's modern history, but the fact is that you know less about it than some foreigners. Your example of Taiwan is a perfect example. Taiwan was controlled by Japan for many years - it has not belonged to China since whenever. Another example would be the Cultural Revolution. Discussion of this event rarely takes place in China, so Chinese people inevitably know little about it. There are many foreigners who know more about it than almost any Chinese person.

By the way, just a little thought related to the original issue. How will mainland China react if Taiwan declares independence just before or during the 2008 Olympics? Taiwan will have a second chance in 2010 when the World Expo is held in Shanghai.
