I don't understand why "solid" is necessary. Just "gold" is enough, isn't it?
After Marie won the lottery, she bought a ghetto fabulous pink SUV with a solid gold steering wheel.

| Here 'solid' suggests it is only gold that is used in the steering wheel and not any other substance. |
