Dear Teachers,

1. I went out with this girl for 2 years and we broke up 2 months ago.
- I think I have been going out with this girl for 2 years is better, right?

2. I said that I still loved her and she began to cry and got emotional.
- get emotional here means become emotional, right?

3. Youre just a victim in the game of love. Once you broke with girls, go with this mentality.
- What does go with this mean here?

4. Now that youre broken up, you can forget her and look for a new guy.
- I think you have broken up is better than youre broken up, right?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

I went out with her .... and we broke up 2 months ago means that this relationship is something that happened in the past. It is correct as it is written.

I have been going out with this girl
means it is an on-going relationship and so it would not be correct in this instance.

2. Yes. It means that she cried, probably got angry, wallowed in self-pity and called you bad names.

3. It means "Think like this...."

4. I think so too, but ,"are broken up" is often used.

In general, "get + adjective"=become [adjective]
