I'm in the middle of completing a Language Awareness Test as part of my application for an EFL post in Ecuador and I'm a bit stumped by one of questions.

The question is: What's the rule for regular past tense pronunciation? (Which verbs sound like/id/ /d/ /t/?) Do they mean words like "did" and "put" or am I getting the wrong idea? I know I should probably know this, given I've just finished a Celta course, and I'm probably being very dim, but could anyone enlighten me? I would be extremely grateful,

Yours hopefully, John HW

Recently Mr. Micawber has answered this in a similar post titled, "how to pronounce the ending of missed and happened"
